Surplus notices have been issued in Kingston yet again...this time at the Ministry of Labour with 2 members of Local 432 receiving layoff notices on September 20th.

Across the province a total of 25 OPSEU members received layoff notices.

To keep up to date on the latest bargaining news check out the PS Let's Talk Blog, the link is at the top of this page. As we move through the negotiation process it will be imperative that all of our members become informed and engaged in the process to show our support to the bargaining team.

Congratulations to our bursary award winner this year, Nicolette McCahill, the cheque was presented to her mom Maryvonne Tonge at the general membership meeting on the 12th of September.

The recently approved updates to Local 432 bylaws have been sent to Head Office for review and approval. Once approval has been received we will post the updated bylaws to our website. Member approval was given at the latest meeting for donations to the United Way and the Probation Officers Assocation Conference, both cheques have been presented. Check out the photo of the United Way presentation made by member Patti Conboy to United Way representative Philomena McClelland.

Across the region members participated in Telephone Town Hall calls on September 20th and 24th to hear the latest news on the governments attack on our pensions! For the latest check the new website www.amatteroftrust.org
