Thanks to the members of Local 432 who attended the General Membership Meeting (GMM) on February 12th. The local executive committee (LEC) gained approval from the members to move our elections from February 2015 to September 2014. Reminders will be sent by email, posted to facebook and on this website prior to the September 17th GMM meeting.

Region 4 Harassment & Discrimination Advisor, Sharon Proulx, attended our GMM to provide an overview of her new role.

Local 432 representatives were elected to participate at convention, with Nancy Lewis, Maryvonne Tonge, Lora Lee Idler, Sharon Proulx and Erin Kemp attending.

As the government ramps up to cut our benefits, try to take away our pensions and short-change the citizens of Ontario by cutting services....it is time to get organized, energized and active! Upcoming Political Action event happening in Kingston on February 28th and March 1st will begin the process. Interested in attending? Contact a member of the LEC to discuss your participation.

Check the members tab for a list of active stewards for the local. If your work site does not have a listing, it indicates we are in need of an information contact for your office. We can help you with training, support and mentoring if you are interested in becoming a contact for your work colleagues on OPSEU related information. Upcoming educational events in our area include a New Steward Orientation, click on this link to review the details and get registered. The Region 4 Education Plan and the Workers Health and Safety Centre (WHSC) have been released and we encourage all members to review the lists to select training. has been released and we encourage all members to review the list. Remember that your local pays a daily stipend of $50 should you wish to participate and increase your union/labour knowledge.

Preparations are underway for bargaining with the expectation of demand set surveys and information sessions coming in the spring. Stay informed, check the website often as plans are finalized.
